31 de January de 2025
The solar plant was inaugurated on January 27 and, with over 1,222 panels, will generate a maximum capacity of 708 kWp, helping to decarbonize its operations while using cleaner and more affordable energy.
Santa Rita Winery, part of Grupo Claro, inaugurated its first solar plant on January 27 in Alto Jahuel, Buin. This project, which also marks the first solar plant within the Group, was built and is operated by Solarity. With over 1,222 solar panels and a maximum capacity of 708 kWp, the plant will supply more than 80% of the operation’s daytime energy consumption, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the use of renewable and clean energy.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Santa Rita Winery’s CEO, Javier Bitar; the winery’s Project Deputy Manager, Jorge Contreras; Solarity’s co-founder, José Luis Carvallo, as well as teams from Solarity and the winery.
“This project represents a major step forward in our commitment to sustainability, allowing us to generate our own renewable energy and reduce emissions that contribute to climate change. This is just the beginning of a broader plan to expand the use of clean energy across our vineyards and facilities, in line with the goals outlined in our sustainability strategy,” said Javier Bitar.
José Luis Carvallo added, “I want to thank Santa Rita for this project, which we discussed for a long time. It has been an exciting journey to work out all the details with such a large and important client as Santa Rita. We value long-term relationships because they foster a winning spirit. Our goal is to ensure the plant operates at full capacity at all times so the winery can maximize its benefits for its operations.”
The plant has a lifespan of 20 years, with Solarity responsible for its operation, functionality, and maintenance.
