10 de February de 2025
The high-end wines Pewën de Apalta 2023 and Triple C 2022 shone with 95 points, reaffirming their excellence as world-class labels.
The renowned British Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, unveiled the list of Chile’s top wines in the latest edition of his Chile Report, where all the wines from Viña Santa Rita’s exclusive high-end collection received notable recognition, adding new accolades to its portfolio. Each of these wines is inspired by the Santa Rita Centennial Park, a National Historic Monument since 1972, with its iconic sculptures and landscapes prominently featured on the labels.
Pewën de Apalta 2023, made from a small block of dry-farmed vineyards planted in 1938 in the Apalta Valley, was awarded an impressive 95 points. This elegant and authentic wine exemplifies the potential of Carménère, with a label drawing inspiration from the majestic Araucaria tree by the lagoon, one of Chile’s most iconic and revered trees.
The same rating was awarded to Triple C 2022, a Chilean reinterpretation of the Bordeaux blend. Comprising Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carménère, this red blend originates from the country’s finest wine-producing valleys, Maipo and Apalta. Bold and structured, its label pays tribute to “The Spring”, part of the Four Seasons sculpture series created by the prestigious French foundation Val d’Osne.
The acclaimed wine critic also awarded high scores to the wines from the Floresta line, which stand out for their low intervention winemaking approach to maximize the expression of each terroir and capture the purity of each variety. With a label featuring an aerial view of the Doña Paula garden, Floresta Carménère 2023 received 94 points, while Floresta Field Blend Blanco 2023, Floresta Chardonnay 2023, and Floresta Cabernet Franc 2023 each earned 93 points, and Floresta Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 received 92 points.
Furthermore, Bougainville 2021, Chile’s first high-end Petite Sirah, was awarded 92 points. Inspired by the bougainvillea located beside the staircase of Hotel Casa Real, this wine comes from a two-hectare vineyard with vines over 20 years old in Alto Jahuel.
This collection of wines embodies the highest expression of Chile’s winemaking tradition and the vast potential of its most distinguished terroirs, including Limarí, Maipo, Leyda, and Apalta. With over 140 years of winemaking experience, Viña Santa Rita encapsulates both its legacy and its forward-looking vision for the future of Chilean enology in every bottle.
